double booking at LV HET properties

I'm going to LV with a large group. The HET online system will allow
me to book rooms simulateously at Paris and Caesars. Does anyone know
if one of these reservations will eventually be cancelled
automatically? Thanks.

I would not do it.

There is an excellent chance that the reservations will be cancelled without any notice to you.

Then, if rooms are available when you go to check-in, you will get rack rate.

Depending on how many rooms you need, how you play and how long your
going to stay, maybe the casino of your choice will give you one or
two extra rooms. It's nice to have the group in one place. I'm
guessing you want comp rooms. If you can talk to a host ask for
some help. It doesn't cost anything to ask. You might ask about
casino rates if not possible to get more than one room. Also,
Sunday papers sometime have deals that are better than casino rates.
One time in AC I was able to get 3 comp rooms fo a convention we
were attending.(I play pretty good) But we needed 2 more rooms.
Convention rate, in my opinion, is just another name for expensive
rate. In setting up rooms one of the reservation people mentioned a
newspaper promo that gave room rate of around $30 a nite. It
included breakfast for 2 and $10 quarters each night for 2 nights;
just what the doctor ordered. Sometime good rates are out there
even for non regulars to the casino. You just have to be lucky to
find them.

Last month I tried to book online two different offers for an
overlapping time period (two nights at Flamingo during a four night
Paris stay). I tried this to allow my son to have a room to himself
for a couple of nights. Both were reservations with separate offers in
my name. HET would not allow it to happen. At least that time, HET
immediately let me know. Don't know if our situations are similar.
You might talk to one of the marketing directors listed with your
offers.

If this has any chance of success it will be because you contact the
properties directly. I would absolutely NOT go through the central
reservation center or online, as they can see everything. And I would
have a backup plan with a room at a non-Harrahs property just in case.

Why make these arrangements when invitations clearly state "subject to
cancellation at management discretion" and "cannot be used with any
other offer"? They put that in small print, but it's there for a reason.

Harrahs is notorious about no "double dipping" even when your are
attempting to dip into what you have already earned.

Thanks for your responses. I decided not to double book, and based on
my play I was able to book a comped room at a non-HET property.
