Dont dare attempt to 'make a living' at montelago!

Ive had my slot club privaleges nixed for some time now at Casino
Montelago but am allowed to still play there and participate in any
promotions. Like 99% of the knowlegable quarter rollers who play CML
I play FPDW, FPJW and occasionally 10/7DB. I stopped in a few
afternoons ago on my way to the Hacienda to checkout any
drawings/promos for December (a friend of mine who plays mainly FPDW
miraculously stilgets his mailer usually informs me but he's outta
of town this month).Turns out no promos worth pursuing this month
and decided to run a Andrew Jackson through one of the multi-games
with FPJW. To my surprise (though I shouldve have known better when
it comes to this place recently) the machine was reduced to snail
mail speed! The FPDW have been slowed ages ago and, by virture of
checking evrey bank, evrey machine is now slow. I asked a floor
supervisor why all of a sudden so slow? My querry quickly put him
into a cold demenour and he gave an even colder response. "They're
not slow, they're at half speed per company mandate!" he
replied. "Fair enough" I answered back. He the added this parting
shot, "We've slowed them cause we no longer want you guys making a
living off the games!". Wow! Didnt expect that. I responded by
telling him that slowing the speeds to a crawl would only serve to
irritate most players, some of whom just wanna play nickels for fun.
The fact that you have quote en quote 'full pay video poker' on hand
will attract knowleagble players regardless of speed. Why dont you
speed them back up and instead make these machines half slot club
points instead? Or something of that nature. He gave me one more
incredulous look and answered "that may be next, but the speeds will
remain the same. period!" He then walked off as I cashed out and
headed for the escallator. Despite the drive CML was one of my
favortite low roller plays, not just because of the vp value but
becasue I was quite fond of most of the staff and enjoyed taking a
break from playing and strolling the quite scenic village area just
outside. Ive had no past run ins or issues with this particular
floor supervisor thus his hostile attitude and responses were a
major shock. I suppose CML assault on FPVP is simply a sign of the
times.

I feel for the frustration of you and all other CML players.

I'll offer up a general word of advice for all when it comes to
discussing specifics of machines, comps, promos, etc with floor
personnel. I have NEVER found it fruitful and it's been the rare
exception that others report something positive in doing so.

At best it draws undesirable notice and has slight risk of singling
you out for ill deserved attention. VP players are supposed to be a
fat, happy and oblivious lot. As one floor person remarked in my
early days when I was strugging with another person hoarding but not
playing one of two good machines on the floor, "I don't know what the
fuss is, they all pay about the same".
