I am old so maybe just getting confused with all the different numbers posted, but I would like to know what the final tally is on how many dollars it takes to make a comp point on the 'paying' VP machines, and also the dollar per point amount on slots. If there is a difference in the machines, .25 or 1.00 or more, please state this. Also what are the dollars per VP at FW and what are the dollars per point on slots at FW.? Thanks to anyone who can answer this in a post with the answers.
dollars per point
It has nothing to do with age. It is that both places keep on changing the points required and no longer post what is required on their web site. I have asked at the players club and gotten answered like I'm not sure.
This is what I believe the $ in required is for a point on VP. There is no difference at either property based on denomination.
Mohegan VP 99% games (I have seen some 98% gamed tagged) No Points
Mohegan VP Most short pay machines $450 coin in per point
Foxwoods VP $300 coin in per point on all machines

Joel..I thought that previous posters had said that MS was paying $300 coin per point on the short pays; same as FW. I could be wrong.

This is what the VPFree Monitor has posted for Mohegan Sun:
$270 Coin-in = 1 point = .37% (for SOME short pay VP machines - check for signs near machines
To confirm the answers, including the slot question, someone would have to lose money playing these games...Yuk. The employees have, indeed, stated that VP short pay machines at Mohegan take $450 to earn a point. If untrue, they are adding to the negative propaganda.
Really, what difference does it make?
All the decent machines have zero points. All the machines that do have points are unplayable even with the points.

Only if Mohegan is monitoring this board. IMHO MS used to blow away FW in every respect. Now it is the reverse. I've been lucky that I have a great host that has made up for much of the cut backs. However, with zero points I will stop using my host and reduce my play considerably on nights when I get a comped room and show tickets.
Points : 0 Mohegan$300 coin in per point FW
Cashback: Cut to .1 of what it was at MSUp to 10X MS

Mohegan has gone from first to last in record time. Unfortunately, my wife hates FW.

Larry,
Mohegan is $450 coin in per point (for very short pay VP) vs $300 at FW. I confirmed this yesterday.

Joel,
i am in total agreement. They have taken all incentives away for playing at a high level. They now base things on loss as opposed to your play. Oh well, back to quarters when we go.

Thanks Joel. I will be at the Sun for two nights this week. I'm taking a buddy for our annual celebration of his birthday. I will be using a $50 FP through the machine just once. The rest of the time I will join my friend in playing the ponies and perhaps trying live poker at a $2-4 limit game. I will also be spending my points as much as possible on meals and store purchases. Any left over points I will use for travel. Unless something drastic happens I will not return to MS.

Here is my best answer to your questions.
At both MS and FW, there is no difference on the point accrual rate based on denomination, (i.e. the $.25 and $1 machines accrue comp points at the same rate for both VP and SLOTS).
FW rates
VP - $300 coin-in yields 1 point for a comp rate of 0.33%
SLOTS - $150 coin-in yields 1 point for a comp rate of 0.66% (if anybody has a better number than this, let us know).
MS rates
VP - machines with 9/6 JoB and other full pay machines - no points
machines with 8/5 JoB, $450 coin-in = 1 pt (comp rate of 0.22%)
machines with 7/5 JoB, $300 coin-in = 1 pt (comp rate of 0.33%)
SLOTS - $52 coin-in yields 1 point for a comp rate of 1.9%

That's a really high comp rate for MS slots. Thanks for the info.

A correction to my previous post.
The slot rate at Foxwoods is $100 coin-in = 1 pt for a comp rate of 1%, NOT $150 = 1 pt (0.66%) as posted previously. It's difficult to get an accurate rate because the machine read-outs only report whole points earned with no fractions. But I'm relatively sure that it is between $90 and $100 per point, and I'm going with $100 per point.
Anyone with more accurate data, please let us know.

Slots at Mohegan is $110 Coin-In for 1 Point its been that way for almost two years. The double point section rows are $55 and when there is double point days those games are $27.50 coin-in.
Thanks for the information, much appreciated. If anyone wants to quickly cure themselves of the illusion that they will achieve any kind of tier score playing slots, place a few hundred dollars into one of these monsters and see how quickly your money is sucked away in exchange for a small accumulation of comp. Do the math, with 93% or so returns, much money would be lost each year to hold onto the premium players card....

If anyone cares anymore (as most people have scratched gambling in Connecticut off their to-do list), Here is my best AMENDED answer to your questions.
FW rates
VP - $300 coin-in yields 1 point for a comp rate of 0.33%
SLOTS - $100 coin-in yields 1 point for a comp rate of 1.0%
MS rates
VP - machines with 9/6 JoB and other full pay machines - no points
machines with 8/5 JoB, $450 coin-in = 1 pt (comp rate of 0.22%)
machines with 7/5 JoB, $300 coin-in = 1 pt (comp rate of 0.33%)
SLOTS - $120 coin-in yields 1 point for a comp rate of 0.83%
(i.e. 92 hands on a $3 slot machine ($276 coin-in) on a double points day yielded $4.58 worth of points, 4.58 / 276 / 2 = .0083 or 0.83% and 1 / .0083 = $120 per point)
