Does Wynn still give you free buffets?

Thanks.

I happened to be at Wynn today so I asked at the Red Card desk about the free buffets for new sign-ups. They said it is now two free buffets after earning 400 points ($3600 coin-in on video poker). Same for both locals or non-locals.

This can change at any time so best to ask the day you're going to play.

Don't know if this includes a line pass. The buffet line is very long on weekends especially holiday weekends.

I called the Wynn today and spoke to the players club. They don't like to be called the "slot" club. But they verified what another poster just posted. You need 400 points, $3600 coin in, in two days time to get two free buffets.

But I found out another little bit of info. When I made my reservation, they told me my players card would be waiting for me at the front desk. Today when I called, I told the players club that I would like to get another card. He told me that I should ask for another room key. I told him he didn't understand me as I wanted another players card. He about floored me when he said that the room key could be used as a players card and would be registered to me. I couldn't believe it. I asked him what about other visits where I may not be staying there. Didn't matter he said. So how's that for technology folks?

I was told a couple of months ago that there are no more line passes from either the Red Card desk, or even hosts, and that the VIP line is now only for RFB guests. An RFB guest is given a room key slot card with a star in one corner. This also gets them into VIP lounges.

I believe it has been that way since they opened up. If hotel guest, player's card IS room key.

vpFREE members should be advised that RFB for Wynn/Encore guests may not be the full RFB you have received at other properties. So, get the details before you start "living it up". Your RFB can be limited to as low as $200/day. At one Wynn restaurant where the fish is priced by the ounce you could theoretically use up your entire day's "RFB" on that one entree. You will find it difficult to feed you and your guest for anywhere near the $200/day unless you intend to enjoy only the buffet and sandwiches exclusively.

Also, the VIP Lounge (at least the one at Encore where I stayed) is no big deal. I actually found the one at the Mirage to have a far greater assortment of drinks and snacks. And having an Encore security guard stare at you as you enjoy one measly cup of coffee doesn't add to the comfort level either.

You have to admit that it's a nice touch rather than have to stand in line at the Red Card club to get your card or an extra card.

What is described below is a far more common issue than thought. It is not just true of Wynn, but more and more casinos where RFB is a fraud. At least at the Venetian they are more transparent about it, they have RFBA through RFBE with different food amounts in each and the VIP check in usually tells you about it, it is usually the host that leaves out the detail of what kind of RFB. This is an issue that state regulators need to look into because what more and more casinos are calling RFB is really RFL. I think the vast majority of casinos have these policies and it gets hidden because even when you exceed your limit the host are making adjustments through your stay, so you never see it and you check out and you think you were full RFB.

I don't know the last time you were at the Mirage, they used to have among the best VIP snacks, but no more.

Probably a dumb question - but where is the VIP area at Mirage?I have seen the "snacks" in the high limit room on past visits, but is there something like HET Diamond lounges at the MGM properties?Bellagio has had really nice displays of food in High Limit Slots in past.

Thanks

They don't even have hard liquor any more, just cheap wine.

Encore has a well stocked bar including Champagne, beautiful fruit, assorted
olives, candied nuts, and unappetizing ham sandwiches.

That's a shame about the Mirage. I guess my new plan would be to have a glass of their cheap wine and then hurry either to the Harrahs or Caesars Diamond Lounge and stand in line for my potato chips.

Gosh, nobody treats their VIPs better than Vegas!

But the memories remain. T.I. (before it was sold) let you "self serve" in the VIP lounge. My daily ritual was to pour a generous portion of Patron with a dash of Chambord. Magnifique! But I suppose that's probably gone now too.

TI had another unique quirk - RFB/RFL guests had all Starbucks purchases automatically picked up subject to an ample $150 DAILY limit. At holiday time it was a great way to stock up on mugs, stainless steel thermos, candies etc. as gifts. Yes, even coffee beans, too.

For those curious as to the play required for RFB status I have some Venetian/Palazzo numbers for you. I haven't been to Vegas since April but they were directly from a host. The loss figures are for a 3 night stay. Any or all of the numbers may have changed (probably up, not down) since I visited. But they do give you a barometer of what Venetian/Palazzo expects. And with their erratic VP availability your ACTUAL loss could certainly be much much higher!

RFBL- $100 Daily Allowance

Theo Loss: $1875-$2499 Daily Theo ($625-$832)

RFBD- $150 Daily Allowance

Theo Loss $2500-$3749 Daily Theo ($833-$1249)

RFBC- $250 Daily Allowance

Theo Loss $3750-$4999 Daily Theo ($1250-$1666)

A higher daily comp allowance may apply if your 3 day theoretical loss exceeds $5000.

Some friends were in town and staying at the Wynn. I dropped by to say Hi, played the noon $330 poker tournament with them (poorly I may add). Then found the $5 9/6 JOB (thanks VPfree2 mobile I love it!)and earned (2) 400 point buffets hit a Quad 10 and skated with Steve W's money.
My friend also confirmed no free drinks at the bartops, he was flabbergasted at this and the fact that I knew this.. thanks Vpfree yahoo groups what a fantastic resource, you make an average dummy seem smart.
I still have an out of state license and asked the players club galat the Wynn if there is an advantage to being local or out of town, she said out of town points expire after 3 days by the way.

On another note I just was comped 4 days last week at the Venetian and was also comped fathers day weekend there... never have put a nickel in their VP only a little Blackjack (very little, less than 3 hours in 2 years) and their poker tournaments,(chopped third in the Friday Nooner with 156 players) never play the cash games... makes no sense to get these comps.. I am not a local to them... and would consider myself a nonplayer there.

Local at the following, yet I don't get crap for comps at the Southpoint (100,000 +points since June),
Silverton (220,000 points since June) (yet spoke to people who got the great coupon book they sent out who never go there, I didn't get one),
Gold Coast (Saphire in a month),
Red Rock (100,000 + since June)
or Rampart where I play a lot.

It seems the Casinos reward known nonplayers more than known players...
Are they really smart or really stupid?

At the Silverton, you have to ask for that coupon book if it isn't mailed to you. I can probably help you out with a casino host and start getting you things. Silverton seems to be very liberal lately.
Just let me know if you want me to put you in touch with someone. I know they have some sort of golf gig going in October. You also would probaby get invited to all their tournaments.

Southpoint has really changed this year and I just cashed out all my points for cashback. Since they now have a new point redemption system on all their machines now, I think cashback might be on the way out.

I would think with that amount of points at the Silverton they would at least give you a coupon book if you asked. However they might not since during my first day of play I asked a slot host for a comped meal at the cafe after playing. Without even checking my level of play he just snubbed me.

I forgot my card and did ask the slot club for one and they said new players only.. which was a lie as they mailed to old nonplayers I talked to while in line.

Joanie is the one I was going to send you to. She's a real sweetheart. Just saw her at Del Mar last weekend. Leaving for Vegas in about two hours. Stasying at the Wynn 2 nights and then the Silverton for 7 nights.
