This is what i want to do:
1) play jokers wild (101%) at Fiesta Rancho and earn points on my
station acct because i want to eat the sat ribeye buffet at sunset
station.
2) pay for the ribeye buffet with my station card points plus get
a
25% discount on the already low price of $13. (i'm a gold member)
else i'm going to be playing joker's wild (100.6%) at either texas
or
sante fe station, depending on which jumbo jackpot is bigger.
so do the Fiesta Rancho and the Station Casinos use the same slot
card and i can mix&match my casinos for points?
Won't work, dagnabbit. I have similar ambitions in that I play at
Fiesta H once a week on Fridays, which is 5X point day, or a comp
rate of 0.8%, and I play pretty heavily, so I rack up a lot of
points. By contrast, I get occasional 3x/4x point day offers from
Stations, but the VP is not nearly as good at Sunset/GVR (the
competitors, since I live in Green Valley), so I don't play there as
much or put in as much action. Furthermore, if a restaurant is not
OWNED by Stations, you pay for comps at 1000 pts=dollar instead of
600 pts=dollar, AND THIS IS TRUE FOR EVERY RESTAURANT but the coffee
shop at Sunset at the buffets at Sunset and GVR (although I've seen
some recent advertising that suggests this policy may be slowly
changing). So if I want to eat at some of the excellent non-buffet
restaurants at Stations, it costs me over TWICE as much action in
earned Station points as it does to eat at Fiesta with Fiesta points.
I have asked about any plans to combine points between Fiesta and
Stations and have been told that there are no such plans. This makes
sense in light of the fact that the Fiesta properties customers are
hard-core value-seeking locals, who will cheerfully get up and go
elsewhere if they don't perceive that they are getting the best
possible deal. That's why Fiestas remain one of the last outposts of
fullpay VP (and conversely, why the VP at Stations is now mostly
crapola).
By the way, if you like ribeye, you should try the ribeye at Fuego
(the FH steakhouse) or Old San Francisco (the FR steakhouse). I
highly recommend them both; the whole dinner should cost less than
$30/person.
Oh yes, another thing about Stations vs. Fiesta: FH and FR seem to
have removed the "half points" restrictions on their fullpay
machines (those are still in place at Stations). So to earn a steak
dinner ($30) would take 30,000 points, or $60,000 coin-in, on a non-
point multiplier day at Stations; a 3X point day, which can be
managed by joining the slot club and getting the mailer, or using
the LVH coupon, is still 20K coin-in. Contrast that with playing
FPVP at Fiesta (H or R) on Friday 5X point day, at 600 pts=$1 comp;
the gross cost is 18,000 points, which at 5X points only costs you
3,600 coin-in. The Stations meal costs almost FIVE TIMES as much in
terms of the amount of play needed to obtain it!
$3600 coin-in is a comfortable evening of VP play for most of us,
and a $30 dinner comp is a healthy .8% comp rate. I eat at Fuego
once a week on the points earned the previous Friday.
