does Caesars comp use trigger a trip

The answer is yes - at least to my knowledge. If you go to Caesars and just
use some Connection comps - even those you have accumulated elsewhere, it
triggers a trip. I had a good "daily average" with them and was getting good
mailings, including things like shopping sprees, but after eating there 2
times with comps earned at Ballys, suddenly my mailings pretty much stopped. I
asked and was told using a comp would trigger a trip.

I HAD EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE EXPERIENCE.

CAESARS ALWAYS SENDS ME A $100 COMP CREDIT TO BE USED IN ANY
RESTAURANT DURING MY BIRTHDAY MONTH. I HAVE STAYED ELSEWHERE AND GONE
IN AND USED THE $100, WHICH I GET AT THE CONNECTION CLUB. IT HAS NEVER
AFFECTED MY OFFERS AND I WAS TOLD IT DID NOT COUNT AS A TRIP.

I ALSO REDEEMED FOR FOOD WHILE STAYING AT MGM WITH NO CAESARS PLAY.
AGAIN, NOT A PROBLEM. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF THE CONNECTION CLUB -
YOU CAN USE YOUR COMPS ANYWHERE, ANY TIME.
