Does Anyone Remember the VP That Stupak Had In Vegas World?

I just got the March issue of Strictly Slots a few days ago. That is much
better than the past (!). I will not be renewing when it comes due again.

I am still getting my copies of CP and also Strictly Slots. They usually
arrive very late.
I.e. I just received the April copies. If you haven't received any in a
long while, I would
call their subscription department....if they still have one.

Are they still in business....I haven't got a magazine in months.

Well they still had one last Summer when I called to cancel my subs due to their broken promise of delivering a Funbook via e-mail. It took repeated calls and emails but I finally received my refund check.

I got my copy of Casino Player toaday June 1, 2010. It is the May issue. It has offers in it that expire on May 31st. I hate getting them a month or two late. I guess they don't care. I won't renew.

I've been a Casino Player subscriber for about 6 or 7 years now. The magazine used to have more top level writers than they do now and the articles and stories were much more interesting. The magazine is less than half the pages as it was 5 years ago and most of the stories are featured around the world series of poker. I understand how the economy has hurt some of their advertising money and poker is a large interest these days, but what made this magazine great were the behind the scenes information which they don't seem to be privy to anymore. I think most of that has to do, sadly, with their editor-in-chief passing suddenly last year, Adam Fine. I don't think his wife and brother have the ins that Adam did, and therefore the magazine has suffered dramatically. I, as well, will just let my subscription run out and will not be renewing.

What was the real name of county commissioner "Pat Webb" from the movie casino?

Just tried going to Casino Player/Strictly Slots website and it no longer exists. The site had been casinocenter.com. This is another indication that these publications are hanging on by a thread. I'd be surprised if they make it to the end of 2010.

One of our writers forwarded this link onto me so I could let people know our magazines are still being published and we are still on the web at www.casinocenter.com. Casino Player and Strictly Slots did suffer through many problems last year along with the slow economy. There were problems with our printer which forced us to move to a new printer, problems with our production schedule which held up the printing of our two publications and problems with the post office that delayed our mailings even more. For all of those customers who stuck with us and continued to enjoy our magazines, we thank you and hope you continue to enjoy Casino Player and Strictly Slots.

We have made large strides this year. We have moved up our production schedules for both our publications and continue to move them forward each month. Strictly Slots is now being mailed to readers at the beginning of the month and Casino Player is following right behind that.

We have also brought in new writers to expand our editorial coverage. We now have even more expert players contributing monthly columns than ever before. We just recently brought on John Grochowski, Michael Shakleford (The Wizard of Odds) and Joesph Payne, not to mention the original experts, Frank Scoblete, Henry Tamburin, Kevin Blackwood, Buzz Daly, and Jerry "Stickman" Stich. These are all experts in the game strategy field.

I'd like to offer anyone who is interested in subscribing or renewing to Casino Player or Strictly Slots magazine a $5 off coupon. Please send me an email at mrobertson@casinocenter.com and I'll email back a PDF of a $5 discount coupon to you. You can either mail it in or contact our customer service department at 800-969-0711 and order by phone. Just mention you read this on Yahoo Group VPFree.

If you have any other questions or concerns you can always reach me at mrobertson@casinocenter.com. Thank you. Maureen Robertson, Circulation Director, Casino Player Publishing.

Good Question. The best I could do was find that the senator played by Dick Smothers was Harry Reid per IMDB.com.

And what about the repeated promises throughout 2009 that an "E-Funbook" would be delivered via email? No subscribers received a single e-coupon, let alone an entire Funbook.

No explanation was ever received and no replacement incentive was ever offered to your subscribers. Numerous long time customers of CP canceled their subs as a result of feeling misled...

This is what I posted to this group on May 18, 2009. Nothing's changed.

"STRICTLY SLOTS and CASINO PLAYER are consistently filled with errors in
every issue. Frequently, the errors are just spelling and grammatical
errors. Other times, it's mathematical or factual errors. In any
case....it's as if there is no one proof-reading or editing any of the
articles before they are printed. These publications are unprofessional to
say the least. I gave up on SS years ago. And, I will not be renewing my
CP subscription when it expires. It's not a very interesting magazine,
anymore, and the constant errors are just too annoying."

I am replying to this message from June because looks like nothing has changed at Casino Player. I just got the Best of Gaming issue and it is full of errors. Unbelievable! Here are a few examples:

Best steak house in Missouri: Arthur Bryant's in Harrahs KC and Harrah's StL. First of all Arthur Bryant's is not a steak house, it is a BBQ place. Steak is not even on the menu. But the kicker is they are located in Ameristar, not Harrah's.

Several references to French Lick in MISSOURI!

Several references to Grand in Tunica (it has been Harrah's for several years).

Best Italian in Missouri: Bugatti's in Ameristar Kansas City. They will be pleased to get that honor especially since the restaurant has been CLOSED FOR MORE THAN TWO YEARS!

I am starting to believe there was no survey at all, they just make this stuff up.

If I wasn't getting the magazine for free I would cancel my subscription.
