Do You Trust Indian Casinos?

As Ronald Reagan said, "Trust, but verify".

If you transplanted Mohegan Sun to a location on the LV Strip, I think it would fit in perfectly, and would become a favored destination. There are full-pay, and near-full-pay games at denominations of $.25 and up. The comp rate is generous, the free play decent, entertainment of a high caliber and compared to the lounges I've seen in LV, they are a step up. Earning tier levels, with their concomitant benefits, is pretty straightforward, up to the next to highest level, and that means that you can usually get free rooms without getting to the highest tier, except for some Fri & Sat nights in the summer. As to the treatment of players, other than the usual discrimination against VP vs. slots in number of coins-in to earn credits, they seem to always try to provide interesting and fun events.I have never had any reason to believe the games are not on the
up-and-up.

I've played at Foxwoods (not recently) and found it cold and unfriendly, and the VP offerings are sparse to non-existent. In talking to other VP players, those that have tried Foxwoods, including a number who formerly liked it, have now switched to the Sun. The karma seems bad, as are the VP plays.

I've visited (once) Hard Rock in Tampa, and on a comparative scale, Foxwoods seems wonderful. 'Nuf said.

Subject: [vpFREE] Do You Trust Indian Casinos?

I have had MANY private email discussions about VP play at various Indian casinos. I would now like to open up the discussion to the entire group.

In general, there is a suspicion that machines are not as regulated on private Indian land as in, for example, major Las Vegas casinos.

My opinion is that there are undoubtedly unfair VP games being played every day. In this economy the temptation to squeeze out every dime of profit is too great to resist.

In terms of my particular post today, I can inform you that there are indeed some Indian casinos where I will not play. I base my choices not only by personal experience but also by the many vpFREE members who email me. Regardless of whether I and others are actually being "cheated", if you feel unlucky or negative in a casino, then perhaps you should be playing elsewhere anyway.

But I would like to get a sense, in general, of how the group feels about this issue. Any of your comments and reasoning would be appreciated.

I totally agree. Mohegan Sun, up to now, has the best Video Poker, Comps and VP Lounges on the East Coast and far better than anything on the Strip. However, things have been changing lately and many of the 9/6 JB machines and full pay Pick-um have been disappearing. I've been told that ALL the bar top 9/6 JB are going to be replaced with 8/5. They have

already disappeared from the Lodge, Sunrise, Wolf and possibly other bars. Full pay on other bars have been halved. It seems that its only a matter of time before they all disappear.

Twenty 9/6 JOB machines have been put on the floor half in the Earth Casino and half in the Sky Casino.
