Do paytables really matter to 99% of VP players?

There is a big difference between you and the truly clueless. You went and sought information on how to improve your chances. Most people do not. These people are not of low intelligence for the most part. They just don't care, or they think they know everything there is to know already, or they think that it doesn't make a difference.

I have talked to many of these people and up here in my neck of the woods I have found almost all of these people to be reasonably intelligent and very nice people. I will sometimes clue them in to the fact that you can learn to play them better, and I even convinced one fairly heavy player to join the slot club to get comps, she thanked me when she got her first cashback. I don't intend to wise them up on which games to play, they almost all play the high volatility low E.V. games. If they all became reasonable players the reasonable plays would disappear.

(on my soap box)

Just to speak up a little for the clueless, because that was me a while ago. It is not that the "clueless" are necessarily dumb or stupid. It is the fact that some lack the information (in my opinion). As we did, coming in cold for our first trip to Las Vegas a couple of years ago, we were smitten with VP and enjoyed ourselves immensely, although losing some. But, that was expected. Hey! We were gambling in Las Vegas.

However, when I knew that we might have a second trip, i started searching the internet for information and was interested enough to follow up and start learning. Some might not be that interested and are happy to just come and play, without regard to what they might be playing, just having fun.

I guess the whole reason for this is to say, to some extent. at least in my opinion, clueless does not mean unintelligent. Maybe they just don't care and that, in my opinion, is not synonymous with stupid or dumb.
