I'd like to point out that when a Strip monstrosity offers free
slot/VP play (that you have to run through the machine at least
once), frequently the best play is to siphon it through a 9/6 JOB
machine. Consider: the Dookie Bird casino has sent you a voucher
good for $100 free play. Wouldn't you gladly take $95 cash? Well,
playing 100 hands of single-coin JOB is one way to get there. If you
play the best DB game available, and don't hit a quad, you may wind
up with something like $47.
Even those disasters that don't have 9/6 JOB usually have 8/5 BP,
which is relatively low volatility. Ugly Ducks mught also do it. 9/6
is still the best if you can find it, not the least reason being
it's very easy to play, having very few nonintuitive plays.
And yes, I'd rather be dragged over carpet tacks and dunked in
rubbing alcohol than play JOB for any length of time, but freeplay
snarfing doesn't take very long, thank God. And JOB does have this
one novelty: you actually MAKE MONEY when you draw to AA and get
AAKK3. Whee!

I'm changing my playing strategy. From now on JOB until I hit 2 pairs
4 times. I'll cash out stick that money in my pocket and switch to
DDB. Now when I draw to AA and AAAA3 comes up I'll have enough of a
windfall from JOB to pay the attendant her tip...
