correctly that Peppermill room offers are really just offers to use
the points I have accumulated?
do I understand
Yes, mostly, however in the past I have gotten marketing offers in the coupon book that are for truly free rooms. If you read the fine print it will tell you whether or not the rooms will be charged to your comp account. I don't know what happens if you don't have enough in your comp account to cover since we have gotten them when we thought our balance was zero.

How about the Peppermill coupons one gets from the daily Peppermillions
swipe? I once got a coupon for a free room that way. If redeemed, would
that come off of the comp account or would it really be free?
Cheers,

You have to check the fine print. If it does not have language saying that it will be charged to your comp. account then it is truely free.
I think those coupons do not have that language, but it is best to check.

This may be presumptious ... I would look for language that the offer
is NOT going to be deducted from account. Otherwise, call and clarify
before booking ...
I could be wrong, but I believe Pepp room offers are deducted from comp
account unless there is language to the contrary.

Clarifying is always good. My host is the one who told me to look for the language saying it would be deducted and that if it was not there it meant it was an marketing offer and totally free. I used one for an extra room and it was not deducted from my comp account.
