I have version 5.0 of winpoker. Something is wrong;. I find it odd that the
change
from quad 2222-4444 to JJJJ-KKKK can more than offset the drop from 125 to
100 for the 2222-TTTT. My instincts tell me that the 98.47% number is
correct.
I assume the default payscale is the same on both versions

800 / 50 / 80-40-20 / 8 5 4 3 2 1

BTW I have version 5.0

Aha! We're talking about two different games--at least as far as the display
is concerned!

Double Jackpot Poker on my later version of WinPoker is:

Royal 4000
SF 250
4 Aces w KQJ 800
4 Aces 400
4 KQJ w AKQJ 400
4 KQJ 200
4 2s-10s 100
FH 40
Flush 25
Straight 20
Trips 15
Two Pair 10
Jacks or Better 5

So it seems that those asterisks you mentioned DO mean an additional payoff
not shown in your paytable--the kicker hands which are shown in the quad Ace
and quad KQJ hands on the paytable above. Maybe your older version of WP
couldn't handle kicker hands? That being the case, they are just "included" in the
appropriate payoff on the paytable, with the asterisk indicating that. So the
games are actually identical, but your version of WP can't display the two extra
lines defining the kicker hands. I'm guessing that when you defined the game
yourself, you didn't include the kicker hands, since they aren't mentioned on
your paytable? That would account for the "extra" 1.15% return in the actual
game, compared to what you came up with.
