Distance between the Gold Coast and Rio

On a map the Gold Coast is next to the Rio. However, in Las Vagas
the distances between casinos can be deceiving. Would someone who
cannot walk great distances have any difficulty with this walk. I
know my description this person, or of difficulty, is vague. The
person is capable of walking, but does not like to walk too far. Is
it greater or less than a 1/4 of a mile walk?
The couple will have a car available and are currently schedule to
stay at the Barbary Coast in late December. However, they could
switch to the Gold Coast if it would eliminate using the car for going
to the Rio. They do want to go to the Rio a few times to take
advantage of the Diamond Lounge. Walking is much more convenient if
the distance is not too far or difficult.

Thanks,
Bob

Depending on door you exit it may be 1/4 mile but they really are
next door so car would not be needed.

It's about a half mile from Rio to Gold Coast. Also, right across the street from Gold Coast is the Palms (a pretty short walk).

I would say that it is about 1/4 of a mile from the side door of Rio to GC. You have to walk across the Rio parking lot, then across a street that includes 3+ lanes of traffic going each direction and the drivers
go F-A-S-T, too! Then into the GC garage via the sidewalk entrance, up the staires to the second level where the casino entrance is and thru the parking garage to that entrance! It's very do-able, but if you've got problems walking, then I'd take the car. I would have them stick with the car, since it is so easy to park at the BC and it's not a huge place to walk thru after parking the car!
