Discretionary Comps - VP players

Perhaps this has been answered before, but it really wasn't clear in
the FAQ section of this site.

Given that I only play VP on point multiplier days, and almost
always play 100% machines, as a quarter and lower player, should I
even expect any discretionary comps? Or would the casino figure that
they are already giving me 100% machines, plus cashback, and
anything more, like a dinner or jacket, would be ridiculous.

It all depends on the casino and their comp policy and every one is
different. We have played in some casinos which give almost no points
or comps for full pay VP machines (Riverside in Laughlin for example).
Others (Ameristar in Kansas City) make no distinction between VP
machines and/or slot machines -- all collect points (and comps) at the
same rate.

Probably not, but it never hurts to talk with a host and
see if your play qualifies.

Several casinos that gave us discretionary comps for
playing 25c FPDW a couple of years ago don't now.

From FAQ #30 <http://members.cox.net/vpfree/FAQ.htm>:

"Discretionary Comps are comps that aren't charged against a player's
Earned Comps, and usually come from a Slot Host. Higher Rollers are the
primary beneficiaries of discretionary comps, but they're sometimes
available to Lower Rollers also, just for the asking."
