Discovered something on WinPoker

Used WinPoker since out of the gate. Yesterday I was playing DDB
10/6. I play using warn setting. Up pops 3roy and a pair of kings. The
play is a little confusing. If 3 roy is J, Q, & K I'll usually play 3
roy if the 5th card is below a 9 and not suited the same as the 3roy.
Otherwise I play the pair. However I don't have a rule to depend on to
get right play for sure.

I wondered if the draw would change if the pay table was 9/6. So in
the middle of the hand, after the deal but before the draw, I went to
change pay tables. The game allowed me to change paytable and takes in
to account the change of draw strategy. After years of playing I
again discovered someting new about WinPoker.

By the way, does anyone have a simple rule on this play and especially
when one uses J-Q drqw over J-Q-9-8. When do we draw two high cards
and when do we draw 4StI?

Cheers...Jeep

The rules that I follow for 10/6 DDB are:

Prefer KQJ suited to KK, QQ, or JJ unless the fifth card is a flush
penalty or a straight penalty to the KQJ.

Prefer QJT suited to QQ or JJ unless the fifth card is a flush penalty
or a straight penalty to the QJT.

Always prefer an inside straight with two unsuited high cards to the
unsuited high cards.

In 10-6 DDB with the two best 3 cd roy draws, the T-J-Q or J-Q-K, the rule
that I use is that you can only have one of the three possible penalties to
prefer the royal draw, keeping in mind that if you are hi paired with the 3
royal, that is an HP pen. Naturally, there are also flush and straight
penalties. With either of these draws, you would never hold flush four, so
now you are down to a choice of a st penalty or a high pair penalty. To hold
the 3 royal, you can have only one but not both. Only time to prefer a flush
4 draw to a 3 roy in this game is when two of the three royal cards are T-A.

Again, if we are still talking 10-6 DDB, and your J-Q are not suited, you
would never hold them over the ST4 I.
