What is the best way to get to Red Rock casino by car? Starting anywhere
from the strip.
Have the crowds died down at all? Planning a late May visit.
Thanks in advance.

As a local, I would head west on the nearest east-west street such as Tropican or Flamingo. Take that street to Fort Apache (about 6 miles) then make a right turn and head north on Fort Apache to Charleston (about 4 miles). Take a left at Charleston heading west again for about 1 or 2 miles till you see the Red Rock on your left.
Instead of Fort Apache, you could take another north-south street such as Decatur, Jones or Rainbow but Fort Apache would probably have the least traffic.
From what I've heard the Red Rock is still very crowded but hopefully this will ease in a week or so when I plan to go there.

Depending on the time of day or night, if you want to avoid a lot of
westbound traffic, take Tropicana or Flamingo or Spring Mountain to
Decatur, turn right, then turn left on Desert Inn. Very few
businesses on D.I., so you can cruise all the way to Fort Apache
with ease (although I would keep going to Hualapai and then turn
right to get to Charleston).
If you choose the directions below, beware of the DIP that is right
before the Sahara intersection when you are heading northbound on
Fort Apache. There is one little sign saying Dip 15 MPH, but it is
practically invisible. If you hit that dip at any decent rate of
speed, you might leave part of the underside of your car in the
intersection.

For those of us driving in from California, would taking 215 all the way to Charleston Blvd. be OK -or- should we plan on taking the 'local's route as suggested in this thread?

I did the 215 Friday to Red Rock Station. It was ok. I wouldn't
attempt it during any rush hour though. Between 10am and 2pm you
should be ok.
It's way worse crossing Sahara going southbound on Ft Apache, especially in
the left lane. Slow down for it. Way down. Really.
