Digital Voice Recorders -- are they ok to use in casinos?

Instead of writing down your session info using a pen/pencil and a
notepad or a piece of paper, is it okay to use a digital voice recorder
or will the casino personnel take it away from you?

I used to call my cellular voice mail and leave messages.

So it's not a good idea since it's one of those electronic stuffs
that the casinos don't want people to use next to their machines.
I just thought that since I see some people using their iPods/mp3
players while playing, the new Sony digital voice recorders/mp3
players may work well in replacing those notepads and pens for
keeping track of my plays since you can record things for hours and
when you get home just download them to your PC.

I guess I'll just have to buy more of those pocket size notebooks.

No, I didn't have any problem with the casinos. Except for security
at the Golden Nugget in Laughlin once not letting me use a cellular
while I was playing a machine, I've never had a problem with that. I
went back to writing records down because I don't think casinos take
enough notice of it.

Given your purpose for using a recorder, they are legal in the State of
Nevada.

Only if one is using them to record casino personnel (or anyone else)
and they aren't aware of the recording would they be considered
illegal. Nevada is considered a "two party" state meaning that both
parties must consent to a recording for it to be legal.
