digest size, XVP

Tedchee,

Thanks for the reply. Block size is usually a 1 or 2 k increment and the only way it increases your file size is when your file just missed fitting in a block. So, if the file was 17 K and I had a 4K block size, my file would take up 20 K. If I had a 2K block size, it would take up 18 K.

There's something else going on with the digests I receive. I have simple emails that are less than 1K with all the address info.

I deleted all of the data from the digest just to see how much 'overhead' was in the digest. I was surprised to see it was 51 K.

I'll play around with the settings in vpfree and see if I can shrink this down. Space isn't really a limitation but if it takes me 50K to save a 75 word email, I may have to rethink my archive strategy.
