Employees picket all the time -- but you DO have to form a LEGITIMATE union, and I'm not sure a VP Players' Union would "float".
Letters to the editor only reach locals, but you pretty much have freedom of speech in that forum -- IF the local press accepts letters that criticize the golden goose of the city.
Wonder if you could get a T-shirt made with your message and wear that? If nothing else, they might offer you a nice "positive" logo jacket to wear over your T-shirt 
Surely there are "real" T-shirts somewhere that say "I hate New York" (not my personal sentiment, but it must be out there). Close enough?
