Yes, that is correct. If you want to book the Flamingo for the River
Run on Thurs, Fri. and Saturday the posted rate on the internet today
is $699.00 per night! Got to be at least a river view room right? Nope,
the river view rooms are $719.00 per night. Oh, if you decide to extend
you stay for Sunday, the same room rate drops to $25.00

Several thoughts come to mind: Greed, Supply and Demand and Timing.>>>

Isn't this a 2- or 3-night rate?

I was told that a company buys all the rooms for that time period &
repackages it in expensive blocks. Can't really blame the casinos if they make more
money this way. Besides we don't have to go then & most of us don't want to
anyway.

Most of the places do require a full 3 night stay. I just can't imagine
anyone paying $2,100 to stay in a standard room at the Flamingo
Laughlin for 3 nights, but I guess there might be a few out there that
would do it. Any yes, you are correct about the rooms being bought up
and packaged with extra events. I would imagine you can find a better
deal through the official River Run Web site:
http://www.laughlinriverrun.com

I think all of us here on this forum are more interested in VP than
motorcycles, but it is just amazing the transformation the town takes
for a few days each year.
