I have been 'lurking' for months now and following the thread of ethics and
specifically want to adress the 'both sides of the fence' anomaly. The best
comparison that I can make from a business standpoint is personal: I am a
successful Realtor...I list a property and represent the seller, and oftentimes
'sell' the same property to a buyer, with full disclosure that I am the listing
agent as well. With the proper, and legal, disclosure to both sellers and
buyers, and the successful conclusion of the transaction, everyone is happy. Is
this playing both sides of the fence? Perhaps, but not only is it legal and
ethical, it is my livlihood and should I decide, as some agents do, to be ONLY
buyers reps or sellers reps, I would cut my business in half.Who wants or
needs to do that, willingly?
I have played video poker for 20 years and not until I got my first Winpoker
disc in 1998 did I fully appreciate the permutations of the game. Thanks, Bob
Dancer.I am also a big fan of Jean Scott's articles and don't care if she is
a little old lady from Indiana or an outed CIA agent,it's the information I
treasure, not her pedigree.
