Subject: Diamond or Platinum in a DayLast month I asked which JoB denomination one would choose if the
objective was to play $20,000 coin-in within 24 hours. The choice
of $20,000 was to address the "Diamin in One Day" option available at
some Harrah's casinos. I want to thank A.P., JBQ, Harry, Babe and
M J for their respoonses.
the specific sttting for this effort was Laughlin. The requirement
in Laughlin for Diamond is $18,000 coin-in and I believe it is
$10,000 for Platinum. Most recommended playing Harrah's 50 play $.05
JoB machine for about 5-6 hours at probably 25 hands per deal.
This is a follow up question to that post. I have read that they
have added a $.10 JoB option to the three existing 50 play machines.
In consideration of this new option, I would like to ask the question
again. I also would like to address a specific goal of palying
$10,000 coin-in for the "platinum in One Day" option. Would anyone
change to the higher denomination now available? Would you still
keep play at 25 of the possible 50 hnd option? Obviously, I would
appreciate all opinions on this mater. Thanks
Bob

Bob,
It all comes down to constraints:
Exposure to the Bankroll
Time, the Casinos and Yours
Expected Return/Value
Coin-in Thresholds for Diamond/Platinum
Benefits for Diamond/Platinum
Utilizing Diamond/Platinum Benefits
***
The casino contraint is you got to get to the threshold coin-requirements in
24-hrs, midnight to midnight.
Your constraints are how many hours can you play (correctly) in 24 hours and
how much risk can you stand.

Go for Diamond if you can utilize alot of the offers that will come your way.
I am now spoiled in Laughlin after doing D in a D on the nickel 50-plays
last January. I am hooked like a flounder.
Private check-in lounge. Secret clubhouse to get a snack and drink premium
cocktails, just tip. Tourneys and concerts. On-line booking at 3am.

Folks like Jean Scott will go sit at the Margaritaville Bar $2/5 10/7 DB
single line bartops and do $18,000 coin-in to reach the coin-in threshold ASAP,
other things to do you know. She believes life is just one long VP session.
She will want the best EV. You can't get any better at Harrahs-L than these
bartops and would be shooting for the monthly 4,500 point threshold for the LTBB
(Long Term Bounce Back) coupon, good for a year.
Folks like me...I was good for about four hours of play before I faded. I
wanted the least amount of risk to my bankroll. So I played the nickel 50-plays
at 15-25 hands per play. I got two royals, but lost $200 bucks. At an
excepted return of 95.5%, 18k coin-in, my vig is $90. I did not get enough
dealt-pat hands, IMO.
Bottom-line: More hands/decisions means you should be closer to the ER of
the game played.
