Subject: Re: slot club boothling incidents resulting in TOO MUCH stuffHello everyone,
Let's hear your strange/dumbest boothling story in Las Vegas. I'm
sure Jean Scott will have more than a few to relate.:>)Ours occurred about 2 years ago when a Vegas casino offered 10X
points on Sunday in their Pahrump casino. We'd drive out there and
accumulate a
load of points and come back to Vegas and redeem them for $75 comps at
Roy's
and/or McCormick & Schmicks. The trick was getting that comp for
essentially
$300 of play (x10 Sunday points). You should have needed $3,000 of play.
Even
at $3,000 I thought it was a very generous comp. The slot club boothlings
were easily razzle dazzled, dazed and confused thinking 3,000 points are
3,000
points. There was also a generous cigarette deal at the same time resulting
in
10 cartons a trip coming home on America West and being resold the next
day.
Off to Roy's with multiples of comps!I can't calculate the EV.

Well, if a promo is worded incorrectly I can't blame a boothling for
following the letter of the law...3000 points is 3000 points. This joint must be one
of the instant multiplier ones. Alot of casino multipliers are adjusted later
(24-72 hours).
I recently took advantage of a promotion at the Pioneer in Laughlin. They do
a user friendly multiplier that counts down instantly in their Acres System.
You usually get two nights a month comped for some action the previous month,
but they fired up a Summer deal where you got 48 hours to put 500/1000 points
on your card for a voucher good for 1 or 2 nights anytime (good for 60 days).
Usually (currently anyway) it is $4/point for VP and $2 for slots.
But they also had double point/double comp periods in May. So I took
advantage...1000 points ($2k coin-in) during double point time got me a voucher for
two future nights. By July they were doing triple point/comps periods, but
wised up with a new rule. Posted at the slot club was a new siign stating all
promos were based on single point totals.
They always defined the monthly Getaway Night requirements in terms of
coin-in ($1k/month) and for a long time defined the new sign-up perks in terms of
coin-in. A new marketing director showed up and started defining things in
terms of points, which got to them for awhile.

I sometimes take advantage at the Colorado Belle too. All the promos they do
state one way to get a drawing ticket per day is be breathing. They don't do
anything to keep track so I will hit a couple different shifts, if in the
neighborhood. Very low value for an entry...maybe like the Palms?
