The Rio comped me 5 nights free, being a Diamond member. I booked
the trip 5 months ago, way before they took the good machines out.Because of this, I feel I owe them some small level of play, not
only because of the comps, but also to keep up at least the Platinum
level. I may never return to the Rio, but I still like the Showboat
in AC.Giving the Rio some play can be debated, but the other reason I
don't think can not.

I too often wonder what is the best plays are at the Rio. Please scout it
out for us, Bonus 7/5? Maybe some 15/9 Illini Deuces?
Under the current incarnation of the Harrahs Total Rewards system, if you now
are Diamond you still will be Diamond thru March 2006. Your marketing
offers should not diminish if you blow off the Rio. Maybe a host will look
unfavorably if not using an offer?
I have blown off the Laughlin Harrahs several times using two night offers in
the last six months and my mail box is still stuffed. Personally, I believe
no play is better than a little play at the Harrahs properties.
It sounds like you went Diamond at the Showboat. I went Diamond in a Day in
Laughlin. I have yet to play at the Vegas properties but have invites, which
I plan to use soon. Nothing but some nights and that low EV Summerfest slot
tourney but I have not set foot in the Rio.
Enjoy what the Rio has to offer. Maybe some untracked table games play would
suffice when you can't sleep?
