Digest Number 143

One thing about the multiplier which is extremely annoying is that a
number of hands must be played before it makes its first appearance.
So not only is it spaced on average 15 hands apart, but there is an
initial delay, i.e. the multiplier will never appear on the 1st 6 coin
bet. Furthermore if you switch back and forth between 6 and 5 coins if
the 6 coin intervals are less than 15 hands the multiplier will not
appear
at all. It seems like the internal counter for the number of 6 coin
hands
is initialized on the first 6 coin hand and is reset on the first non 6
coin hand.

This sounds like a more complicated way to pick the multiplier. Do you
think there
is actually a separate counter that keeps track of how many hands have
been played?
Why not just use the RNG in the machine and assign 1/15 of the range to
' select a multiplier'.
It doesn't seem 'fair' that that the multiplier cannot appear on the
first hand.

I agree. One should be able to get the multiplier "at random" on any 6
coin bet regardless of when that bet takes place. I'm hoping Howard
can clear this up for us.
