I had considered adding a page to my site devoted to playing strategies that
would accomplish a specific goal with smallest loss of EV. Here is an
example.More RF's playing DB
10/7 DB has an EV of 100.17%. Strategy changes that reduce the EV to 100.08%
can/will reduce the royal cycle by more than 25%.I decided that even if I started the page by explaining that every strategy
change listed would possibly/probably result in a long-term loss of EV many
players would be trying the strategies modified for short-term results.
An interesting idea. I suspect that many tourists are more interested
in royals than in long-term EV. Note, however, that although a loss
of 0.09% in EV sounds small, it's about half of the player's
advantage.
On a similar thought, Yuri has written articles in Video Poker Times
on minimizing Risk of Ruin. The strategy changes have less effect on
EV and variance.
