? - Difference in comps - staying at NYNY and playing at Bellagio

Does anyone know, if you are stay at one MGM property (comped) and
playing at another MGM property, are you still earning the same
comps? We have a good room offer at NYNY but we have read that they
no longer have 9/6 Job at dollar or less and would like to play at
Bellagio where they have dollar 9/6 Job. Thank you

If you're on a room-only comp at NYNY then the general answer is yes,
you earn food and beverage comps at basically the same rate and they
can be used cross property.

However, if you're on a RFB comp of some type, then you'd likely get a
lot more mileage out of NYNY play then playing at Bellagio while
staying at NYNY. In truth, even if on a room only comp, a host at the
property where you stay has a lot more discretion at providing comps
beyond the formula food and beverage earned by your play.

Anything else I might add would be largely speculative (based upon my
experience at NYNY, MGM, Bellagio). However, my advice is to stay
where you intend to play. In the longer run, and even short run, you
get A LOT more for your play and have the opportunity to develop a
strong host relationship.

No decent player should be hesitant to stay at a property on a casino
rate offered by a host after an introductory phone call. If you play
up to room comp guidelines conversion of your stay to a comp will be a
no-brainer and most hosts will comp off appropriate food and beverage
charges.

Check out the vpFREE database for some good choices to consider. LV
Hilton and Bally's come immediately to mind. If you play $30K+/day
Caesars/Bellagio are premium RFL choices that my wife and I enjoy most.

I've been staying at the Palms for a couple of days and checking out in a few hours. In that time machines have either been moved or MIA. The DDB near the elevators is gone, maybe it showed up elsewhere but I'm not sure.

The Island Bar only had on 10/7 DB that I could find, but now it is out of order. Perhaps they are reconfiguring it?

The FPDW Progressive (current 1,250ish) and the DDB near the front are still there, as are the others that I could remember.

But, this may be the start of something NOT good.

I hope you locals will keep us informed as to the changes.

You can play at any of the MGM properties on the Players Card system
and earn comps - just as you can dine at other MGM properties and
charge them back to your room to be comped. There are two issues to
consider:

1. If you are on room only and don't earn enough comps to cover your
food, you're more likely to get discretionary comps from a host if
you've been playing where you are staying. Same situation goes if
you are RFL and have done some gourmet dining you'd like to have
comped.

2. Although the comps all combine during a stay, each MGM property
keeps track of how much you play at their own property. Playing
little at NYNY may impact future offers from them. You'll need
higher play at the Bellagio in order to qualify for the same level of
offers. If you have a high level of play, you're probably better off
calling a host at the Bellagio and asking for a casino rate and then
having your bill comped on checkout.

(As an FYI - the hosts can now see activity/reservations at all the
linked properties. When you call, they'll see your NYNY reservation
if you provide your account number. At TI, MGM Grand and Mirage,
they can also
see recent activity and other offers - don't know if this is true for
all MGM properties - but it wouldn't hurt to have your Players Card
number available to see what your level of play at the other
properties might get you at Bellagio.)
