VPSM generates charts that are not 100% perfect.
Kc, Qc, Jc, Jd, 6h the JJ is 7.6318 vs 7.4422 for KQJ suited.
The AKQJ with QJ suited, AKQJ weaker than QJ suited unless the 5th card is a 9.
I was curious about any possible differences in advance
strategy play between 8/6 and 9/6 JOB. My first guess was
that there might not be any difference in perfect play
strategy between the two pay schedules.
I decided to compare the two pay schedule using VPSM. It
showed only one difference. You hold K,Q,J suited with no
penalties over a high pair. K,Q,J (7.6642) vs a high pair
(7.6506) in 8/6 JoB. I can't explain the logic in this
change.
I thought I would check this change against the suggested
strategy in Video Poker for Winners program. I found that
its strategy did not suggest this switch. However, a little
later in the 8/6 strategy, VPFW moved 4 to a straight A,K,Q,J
above the 2 to a Royal - Q,J.
However. this second switch was not made in VPSM strategy
printout. In this program the 2 to a Royal - Q,J kept its
higher rank over the 4 to a straight A,K,Q,J These are very
minor, but seem to be strange slight differences in these
strategy programs.
Any comments or thoughts on these slight program differences?
Thanks,
Bob
