Just returned from my first trip to Caesars post Harrahs. Got my
Diamond card in about 5 hours on the trip play STP machines. I am
new to Harrahs so I thought I would check out the Diamond Lounges.
Here is what I found:
All diamond lounges are free entry for Diamond card holders plus one
guest. All drinks/food are also free (tips appreciated). They
require card and ID when you enter and you are logged into the
computer. Not sure why this is done? Does this trip a "trip"?
Here is my impression of the lounges for night visits:
FLAMINGO
This was my favourite lounge for watching a game (NCAA tourney was
on). Comfy seats and losts of plazma screens. Food was good (sub
sandwiches, chicken wings, fruit, cheese plates and some deserts).
No bar but they did have a cocktail service.
HARRAHS
The setup here was more table and chairs and not the comfy seats of
Flamingo. However, they did have a nice bar with bar seating. Food
included pulled pork, tacos, coleslaw, potatoe salad, cheese, fruit
and deserts. Very nice! They had a couple of large, old big screen
TV's. They were also setup for you to take your drinks out of the
lounge (plastic cups waiting on the way out). I believe that they
also had internet access from two computers (didn't check too
closely).
BALLYS / PARIS
I was told that the diamond lounges were under construction and were
not open a the moment.
CAESARS
They did have a high limit lounge but this was not for diamond
members. I was told this was under construction.
RIO
Took free shuttle from Caesars to Rio (very easy, took only 5
mins). Lounge was very nice. Included free internet access from
two computers. Food was also identical to Flamingo. A few large
old screen TV's were positioned around.
Overall I thought Flamingo was best for watching a game and Harrahs
was best on food or just sitting at a bar.
Can't wait for the Ballys/Paris/Caesars to open!
