1. Is a spouse allowed to enter the diamond lounge with their diamond
partner?
In the lounges I've been to, Reno & Showboat, the Diamond member is allowed
to bring in one guest.
2. Are the diamond benefits for a 12 month period, or do all diamond
members need to requalify in January?
It's not for a 12 month period. I was told that when I got my D in a D in
June, that it'd last till the end of the calendar year, with a 3 month grace
period (i.e., March of the following year) to re-qualify for the new year.
Others have suggested that you could do D in a D during the grace perioe to
extend it.
3. Do any of the Nevada Harrah's casinos have a 2X or more times day
that would be best to qualify?
I called up Harrahs, & was told that multipliers apply to bonus points only.
You need to use tier points (points you actually get by playing) to qualify
for Diamond status.
3. Would there be any reason to ask for the Platinum card half way to
the diamond level?
In the past, there was a lower point qualifier to get Platinum in a Day.
I've heard that this has been discontinued, at least at some casinos. The
points needed are spelled out somewhere on harrahs.com, I've found it in the
past, but can't at the moment.
