Diamond in a day (Harrah's)

I have looked at a lot of the messages in the archives, but still have
some questions that would be best answered by people who have become
diamond in a day. Any help is appreciated here. We live in Las Vegas
but travel frequently to many cities that have a Harrah's casino. So
it would seem reasonable to become a diamond member if the cost to do
so was not excessive. Previous posts about this have done a good job
of indicating how much this might cost. The following questions were
not answered that I could find in the recent archives or Harrah's web
site.

1. Is a spouse allowed to enter the diamond lounge with their diamond
partner?

2. Are the diamond benefits for a 12 month period, or do all diamond
members need to requalify in January?

3. Do any of the Nevada Harrah's casinos have a 2X or more times day
that would be best to qualify?

3. Would there be any reason to ask for the Platinum card half way to
the diamond level?

Open for any additional points that the experts might make, can post
to this list or e-mail us directly.

Thanks,

Andy & Charlett

1. Is a spouse allowed to enter the diamond lounge with their diamond
partner?

Yes, you can bring a guest with you into the diamond lounges at the various properties.

2. Are the diamond benefits for a 12 month period, or do all diamond
members need to requalify in January?

They are good for a 12 month period. You will have have the expiration month printed on the card.

3. Do any of the Nevada Harrah's casinos have a 2X or more times day
that would be best to qualify?

You won't qualify any faster on multiple point days. Qualification is based on "base" or "tier" points, and not on reward points. On multi-point days, you get more reward points, but get the same base points.

In general the multi-point days require that you've received a mailer. Your point multipllier will be based on your tier status.

3. Would there be any reason to ask for the Platinum card half way to
the diamond level?

No, unless you desperately need to use a platinum entrance to a restaurant to bypass the line before you have enough points for diamond. Otherwise, you can wait until you have diamond status to get your full benefits.

Once you achieve diamond status, you will be inundated with offers from Harrah's. You can also log into their web site and check on the status of your offers.

Actually, when you qualify, it is for the FOLLOWING
YEAR which will expire at the end of March in the year
following that. For example, if you qualified today,
you would get a Diamond card immediately with a March
2006 expiration. However, the qualification was for
2006 and you will receive a new card for 2006 with a
March 2007 expiration early in 2006.

On 1 Jan 2006 your tier qualification level goes to zero and you start earning qualification points toward 2007. --- Part Timer <PartTimeVP@hotmail.com> wrote:

They are good for a 12 month period. You will have
