Harrahs Las Vegas Diamond club is being renovated (until about Aug. 20 when
this will be done). Meanwhile they have moved the club to the 2nd floor in
the convention center (Marti Grai Tower) in another room.
The GOOD news - they are now serving hot food starting at 4pm weekdays
(unknown on weekends) and this includes carved food such as prime rib and salmon.
In fact tonight (a Tuesday), they had Chicken Parmasean, Veal and Mushrooms,
some sort of delicious cheese ravioli, and prime rib. And when the prime
rib ran out, they brought in delicious carved salmon! Also had the regular
sandwiches, 1 choice of soup, cole slaw, potato salad, fruit tray, tomatoes, and
of course, variety of small deserts, which was a better variety than they
usually have.
There is a bar and tables/chairs and tvs (no closed captioning) and good
service.

They said when the newly expanded Diamond Club opens later this month, there
will be more food, including a carving station. We will have to wait to see
on this one.
Meanwhile there was enough food for a full dinner, and it is currently the
best selection of food at any Diamond club in Vegas.

The current Harrah's promotion requires 50 Base points at a property to get
a chance at the usual sort of WinFinder or other prize. A friend told me
they were winning quite a bit. Also I believe if you go to Paris or Bally's you
will get 2 instead of one.
One thing to watch out for - if you are playing only 50 Base points, you
will be causing a "trip" and could lower your overall average. You'll have to
judge whether going for these gifts is worth possibly lowering your overall
"daily average" and thus offers. My friend probably lowered her offers at
Caesars from $750 or more in Macy's cards or similar to the $300 level because
she was going for some of these gifts.
