DIAD/Total Rewards questions (was A (very, very lucky?) DIAD experience)

Total Reward credits can be used at any property. However, they may not show on the computer system until the next business day at another property.

I also realized that Platinum in a Day is possible in LV but not in AC, so that is more reason to wait and do it there just in case I have to abort the mission halfway for some reason.I appreciate your warning not to play to earn comps. As I said, I will have a larger bankroll now than in previous trips. And I have probably had days where I put $18-20,000 coin in but spread it around several casinos. This trip I will be with a video poker fan (albeit one who will only pay DDB regardless of paytable!) so will be able to concentrate on at least 1 VP day without moving around town. One final question for those in the know: if I decide to do DIAD at Caesars (best game variety) but am staying at Harrah's, will that affect comps for that trip in any way? I just use the Reward Credits earned for comps, so it doesn't matter that they are earned at Caesars and the bill will be from Harrah's, right?--- In vpFREE@yahoogroups.com, "gary hacker" <kelso1600@...> wrote:>> Generally, it helps to get DIAD at the Harrahs property that you want to stay at the most since you will get some offers based on your coin-in of $20,000 in one day. DIAD experience)Congrats on your good day! I'm hoping someone can help me with a few questions regarding DIAD. I have a trip planned for LV in late June and will be staying at Harrah's. I will also be spending a day in A.C. in early June after attending a conference in NYC. I have a larger bankroll than I have had previously and plan to go for DIAD somewhere - I'm looking for help deciding where:1) If I got DIAD in A.C. (I realize it takes 200 more points) would it provide any benefits prior to check-in in LV three weeks later or would it be roughly the same as earning it on Day 1 in LV? I assume that would be too soon to get any new offers on hotel rooms in LV for 3 weeks later.2) Does it matter where you earn DIAD in terms of future offers? I will have more future trips to LV than to A.C. Or any other reasons to try at one casino/locale vs. another other than game selection?3) Does it matter if you earn it at the property where you're staying? For example, I would much rather try to earn DIAD at Caesars (or almost anywhere!) than Harrah's where we will be staying in LV - is it treated the same?4) I know that you generally use your Total Rewards credits for comps - are there also discretionary comps? If so does it vary by casino? Can you get things like a massage at the spa?5) Finally we are staying at Harrah's because my friend got a good offer. On Harrah's online reservation system they ask for travel companion's TR #. If I tell him to give them my number as well, any idea if that could improve our rate by "stacking" our accounts (right now they gave him $79/$89/free for the weekend)? Or do they just compare both accounts and give the better rate? Thanks to everyone for the information you provide!Steve--- In vpFREE@yahoogroups.com, "bornloser1537" <bornloser1537@> wrote:>> > Sorry for rambling but my wife and I did find in exciting to make it to the Diamond level. > It looks to me that the 10-line quarter NSUD at Caesars is one way to do DIAD on the LV > strip.> > .....bl>vpFREE Links: http://members.cox.net/vpfree/Links.htm> > > YAHOO! It has been my experience that when you play at one particular
harrah's and then visit another; often times your points are not
there - even if its 2 weeks later. You have to go to the total
rewards desk and have them "move" your points over for that day.
Its not suppose to work that way- but it was explained that since
the newest acquisition of casinos they have had problems with thier
system. I don't think it matters what level you are since I am a
diamond member.

Total Reward credits can be used at any property. However, they

may not show on the computer system until the next business day at
another property.
