I was in LV this past weekend for a slot tourney at the Venetian. My
friend Jason was also there at that time because he wanted me to get
him a Diamond Card at Harrahs. So, Sunday night we went over to the
high limit slot area at CP to run the requisite $30000 thru the
machine. When we walked into the area, a man was just getting paid
for a RF on a $2 machine. One machine was vacant and I sat down and
put in $500 of Jason's money and started to play 9/6 JOB.
What followed was a hell of a ride!
First set of quads that I hit came 15 minutes in, AAAA3. Damn, wrong
game! Third set came 15 after that, AAAA4. Doh!!! For 2 hours I was
always up about $200 to $300. Then, a machine came available next to
me so Jason started to play. He had picked up most of basic strategy
while watching me play. His first set of quads 5 minutes in was 2222.
Wrong game again! 10 minutes after that I hit 2222. Holy smokes!
After running $20000 thru while talking to my 3 friends who were
watching I drew 3 cards to KcTc and BAM! RF, baby!
Now remember, I've got his TR card in my machine. Slot lady comes by
and grabs the card, comes back and pays me, then she aks for my
driver's license. I told her I left it in my room. I gave her
Jason's SS number and told her that "my info" should be in the system
since he had been given a Platinum card at Harrahs New Orleans the
year before for winning $150000 in a poker tourney. When she came
back, she said that my driver's license expiration date was not in the
system for some reason. I told her i wasn't sure what year it was. I
should have just given her any year. She then brings over a
supervisor who says something about not paying jackpots if a license
was expired more than 6 months. Anyway, I told them that I was 90%
sure that my license didn't expire til later this year on my birthday,
and they eventually went with that. They told me to try to bring it
in the next day or just go to any TR desk in the future.
Now Jason wasn't sure if we should continue going for Diamond or just
leave. We decided to continue to play, but to bump up to $2. This
way I could finish up in about 1 more hour. I still stayed in the
positive and ended up playing 9 hands of $5 VP to finish the session.
After it was all said and done, I was still up $230 not including the
royal.
Jason gave me half of the royal for services rendered.
FYI, the next day, CP put the bank out of service. I think they got
rid of the $1 option on those games.
