DIAD at Caesars Palace

Hello, everyone --

Previously I had little to no play with HET prior to yesterday (it had me down as HLV as my dominant property for maybe 5 minutes of 25c VP a year ago).

I ran $30k through a $5 9/6 Caesars Palace JoB machine on 5/28 for Diamond in a Day. I had lots of questions about the specifics of this program, and had conflicting and confusing info from various HET Total Rewards employees, slot techs, and a slot host.

If anyone can help answer a few questions if they have experience with the HET system:

1) A 9/6 machine certainly gives 0 Bonus RCs - but should I expect any worthwhile invitations from being Diamond alone, or the 3000 TCs? Theo on that is obviously $150, but my personal loss was much higher than this.

2) DIAD's doesn't allow for "renewal" - does this mean after March 31, 2011, I return to Gold? Can I earn another 1000 TCs before January 1st of this year to be at 4,000 for the standard Platinum card for use in 2011? Are you allowed to subsequently use another Diamond in a Day promotion after next year ever again?

3) I played for <5% of the 3,000 DIAD Tier Credits at Planet Hollywood and Flamingo - does this split my Average Daily Total in three as a result of not concentrating the full amount at Caesars?

Again, thanks in advance for any helpful advice.

Cheers,

-A.J.

Hi AJ,
Overall the diad doesn't get you much more than entrance to diamond check-in and lounge which are of some benefit. The offers will be for the minimum which would be free rooms (limited) period and the occasional small offer. The 3000 points will count toward next year's card so you should at least get a platinum for next year once you get an additional 1000 points. Your present card is good through March of 2011. Yes you can qualify for diad again next year. I'm really not sure whether splitting your play with other HET casinos will split your ADT but I don't think it will.

For what it's worth I think it's a good program but don't expect to be flooded with lots of new offers. Also there's usually a delay before you notice any difference...altho you should receive a "form" welcome from Caesars.

Your results may vary, but the TR rules are that you can only do DIAD once in a lifetime.
If you earn 1000 more Tier Points by the end of this year (giving you 4000+ Tier Points) you will qualify for Platinum and that will be what you renew as in 2011.

Take Care,
Mark

Hi Mark,
They may have made a mistake with me but I can personally vouch that I've made diad in a day more than once. They have not been in consecutive years.

DIAD is not limited to once in a lifetime. I can tell you that from personal experience. Especially now since its meaningless compared to just a few years ago.

Have you done multiple DIAD's in recent years?
The reason I ask is that when the DIAD requirement changed from 1800/2000 depending upon location to 3000 nationwide, it was also stated that you could only do that once (no DIAD for renewal and no DIAD to regain status). Before that, there wasn't a limitation. Before that change it also gave you full Diamond status for the next year, too.

As you mentioned, Diamond is not as valuable as it was a few years ago. About the only thing this is still useful to me is the line pass aspect and in Las Vegas, many of the Diamond entrances to the buffets and cafes include Platinum, too.
If I were the original poster, I would go ahead and do the extra play to get to regular Platinum status, but not put in the extra time and money for the full Diamond.

Take Care,
Mark
