Devaluation of Points at Palace Station

The newly remodeled coffee shop is now open but with a very BIG change in
favor of the house , of course.

Palace Station had a breakfast, lunch, dinner point value with breakfast at
3,000 points for up to a $10 bill. Prior to this re-opening, you could have
any menu item (lunch, dinner entrees) and if it was under the $10 meal total,
you were charged the 3,000.

I forget the parameter and value for lunch and dinner. Well, kiss that
system good-bye. At the cashier's station, a sign now reads that each dollar of
the bill will be charged 600 points.

In essence, at the Palace, our points now buy 50% of what they did a few days
ago. I've been through many of these de-valuations and they normally go
unchallenged.

A few years back when Silverton had cashback, they just arbitrarily announced
one day that instead of 400 points = $1 , it would now be 500 points = $1.

I do commend the Coast properties that changed their system to comp/cashback
as an entity versus two separate accounts. They evaluated your comp account
at the time of the change and added the equivalent cash value to your account.
then the new system as we know it today started.

This change at the Palace isn't that serious since some of their sister
properties were already charging in the area of $1 = 600 points. If you tend to
horde your points a bit as I do, it does make you wonder if it is better to use
as many as possible when the system is good rather than lose their "worth"
with these devaluations.
