Deuce losing streak
First, figure out how accurate you play by practicing on on a VP software. Although, FPDW maximum return is about 100.762%, most people do not play perfectly (I average about 99.6% accuracy X 100.762% = 100.36% return). Also, per OVP software, you have to have a bankroll of $4,600 to have only a !0% chance of going busted assuming perfect play but not assuming comps, etc. At $1,600 played, your chance of going bust is still 35%. So, $1,600 loss is not much in this game. Keys are getting close to accurate play, having the bankroll to out last a losing streak, and thinking long term (I will admit this is easier said than done). I asked a similar question about All American Poker a year or so ago. The advice I got then was practice, practice, practice. I did not play All American until I averaged 99.5% in practice. I can relate. I play pickem at about 900 hands per hour. The quad cycle on pickem is 1 in about 2300 hands. I've gone over 20 hours with no quads, about 18 ,000 hands. Between quarters and dollars (75% quarters) I'm down about $2000 since my last quad.

Leave for Nevada this Sunday, alone again. I still

hosting a dinner at the Outback Steak House in the
Casino Royale at 7:00 PM March 14th, a Tuesday. Writer
Scot Krause is scheduled to attend. As usual, I will
be picking up the first $200 of the tab. This will be
a joint member's meet of the vpFREE and LVA groups. We
meet up at the slant tops between the bar and pizza
place around 6:30 PM where I will be found playing 8/5
BP, the best game in the house. They have triple comps
and triple CB (0.75%) from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. I do
NOT need an RSVP unless you are running late. At 7:00
PM or so, I make the table reservation. Feel free to
call my cell, 214-325-2410 if you have any questions,
such as how to get in the parking lot, etc. I will
have a rental, can give folks a ride back to their
hotel if need be.

In 2003, if my memory serves, I went 17,382 duckless hands. In 2004, even
better, I mananged to go 93 consectuive playing days without any royal on
any of the half dozen or so games that I play. I'm not sure but I seem to
recall around 263,000 hands on the deuces game as being the final talley.

Standard .25 FPDW played at 800 hph without deuces or a royal will drain you
to the tune of about $60 / hr. Of course, this is not the worst of it. At
some point during your streak from hell, you will witness something like the
following. I was probably about 60 days into my royal drought and had just
finished my clock cleaning at FR, when I noticed some hoopla along with some
smooch-coochy face sucking by a couple playing loose deuces on the optimum
bank. She had held a deuce and an Ace, and caught 3 running ducks for a
$625 payoff. I guess the thinking here is that you can't get a wild royal
without an Ace. Why is it, that when you are more than willing to buy a
bullet, there is nobody around to rent you a gun.
