Detroit VP Sucks

I envy you guys in other parts of the country that have decent
video poker. Here in the Detroit area we have lousy VP. The only game
worth playing here is Pick'Em which has a 99.95% payback lomg term.
This is probably the best game to play long term because of the
rather simple strategy and one-card decision method of play that
doesn't burn you out after several hour's play.
The problem is that the casinos here are have revenue of only a
measly million dollars a day and are still looking to screw the
players some more for an extra few lousy bucks.
They have changed most of the pay scales on Pick'Em to what old VP
Pappy calls "Rip-Off Pick'Em. That is they pay you five coins less on
the straights and three of a kinds putting it back to a 96.68% game.
Very tough to beat.
Windsor Casino has changed all their fifty and twenty-five cent
games to to Rip-Off Pick'Em also. They still have some dollar and two
dollar ons left which I play accasionally, but that's all there is as
far as VP goes in that place.
MGM has changed all their Pick'Em to the Rip-Off kind, but they
also have a few of the full pay ones left if you search them out.
The onlything else that's barely playable is a 9/7/5 DB that's a
progressive. This game is just too damn volitile to play on a regular
basis.
Over at Motor City Casino, about the only game worth playing is a
16-10-4-4 DW (NSU) that is a progressive, which ain't all that bad,
but you better hit those deuces once in awhile or it gets expensive.
That's it for VP in this town. So you guys who still have some
full pay games left in your cities, count your lucky stars.

and the scarcity of the skilled."
