Delete your own posts feature

I've been on this site since start up. I have never realized one
could delete his posts after sent. Then about a month ago someone
mentioned this feature. Works nice if you send a post before done. I
did that today. It's also great when one changes his mind about a post
that was not very nice to the person he has posted to.

I guess most of you know about this feature, but just posting for
those who forgot or didn't know.

I know, I know, I should have used the delete feature on this post.

Cheers... Jeep

Deleting your own post removes it from the message
archives, but doesn't stop it from going to everyone
who gets individual emails.

hi vp.

I can't understand why someone would want to get individual emails
from a busy group like this one is. Gee, it seems to be easier to just
visit the site and select the messages you want to read. One swoop
through messages and your done. It's not like you need a record of
messages as they are still here. Of course, if you are in a group that
doesn't have much activity, then email is usefull.

If ones "feelings are hurt" by a rotten email-post and the sender, on
second thought, decides to delete his post before a fight breaks out,
then it makes administrators job a "little" easier. The sensitive
person has no one to post angry post backs. I often wondered why admin
doesn't just delete troublemaking posts and have helpers to delete
also. However, we are a pretty docile group and probably no need to do
anything. Good group here. I'd say over 99%.

Many people find following/scanning/reading a web based forum pokey
and cumbersome and prefer to go old school... especially those
brought up downloading messages on E mail software or newsreaders.

I agree. It's so easy to thread and sort mail with good email software I can't see why anyone would want to read it on the web or even get digests. To each his own.
