Decent $5 blackjack arrives at Woodbine

Today they have launched new video blackjack machines @ Woodbine Racetrack casino. Minimum bet is $5, maximum bet is $500. There is a video dealer and 5 players each at a 'table'.

Rules are Blackjack pays 3-2. Dealer stands on soft 17. Double on any 2 cards. Insurance and Surrender(!) is available.

Very nice addition to the casino. Played today and most players didn't have a clue how to operate the system. Guy beside me mistakenly stood on a pair of 2s. He meant to split 'em but hit the wrong button.

Royal Match side bet is also available for suckers.

That is a quality play. 0.37% house edge. Might be a positive expectation on some multiple point days.

Hi, does anyone know how many decks are used? And do they shuffle after each hand?

What are the payoffs for the Royal Match bet?

Thanks,

- Aloha

6 decks, shuffles after each round, Royal match has a 6.5 % house edge, the surrender option is late surrender. You can't resplit any pairs including aces. I calculate the house edge to be 0.42% . This is for the game itself and does not include any cash back or bounce back and assumes perfect strategy play.
