As mainly a "discretionary comps" person, I would rather see the
points take a 50% hit, as opposed to my games being "killed". After
all, that's why I choose to play where I play.

Sounds like it mainly depends on what you played in the first place.
I love the full pay games but I get consistently killed on the volatility of
the game before I can even come close to achieving the "positive"
expectation.
So, playing a 9/6 JOB or an 8/5 Bonus that makes my short term dollar last
longer it doesn't make much difference.
Although, when I do play the Full Pay games, since I'm already getting
killed by the vol, I'd prefer to get my full points worth of comp.

Personally, I'd like to see the "points" stay the same, because they
are guaranteed, whether you win or lose at VP. But that's also
because my playing preference is a progressive with a high return.
The pay schedules of progressives have always been pretty bad (at
reset). I would love to see all the fixed-jackpot games with bad pay
schedules replaced by progressives with bad pay schedules. Then
there would sometimes be a good VP return plus good comps. That's
assuming you have to make a choice between pay schedules and comps,
which is unfortunately what's happening!
