Just a quick question. Looking through the Las Vegas Casino database
this morning, I noticed that 9/6 DDB (99%) was listed as full pay in
the Wynn Las Vegas database. 9/6 DDB is very common in Reno casinos yet
isn't listed (that I could find) as a "best game" in the summary. Just
wondering why? Thanks, just trying to understan this forum and my
favorite VP game better.

DDB Question
For Las Vegas Strip properties, 9/6 DDB at 98.9% looks like a pretty good game compared to some of the frightening paytables you will find. Since Reno has always had an abundance of games with much higher EVs, the 98.9% version of DDB has been considered a poor step-child and not worthy of inclusion. This may change as the better games are removed.
It's all about context.

The Vpfree directory does not even mention 9/6 double double aces and faces (99.46 ) which is a pretty good game found at the Peppermill.

David's reply is correct. I'll add that the DataBase always
includes the following (when available):
1) All over-100% payback games
2) All 9/6 JoB
3) The best game in each denomination
Which additional marginal games are included isn't all that
clear cut and depends on a casino's overall inventory,
feedback from members and many subjective factors.

Tom,
I go to the Pepp about 4 times a year and have not seen that game. Can
you provide some location information? I would like to check them out.
Thanks.

I found this game recently at a local casino but have no idea of

I have not yet figured out the delta's from 9/6 ddb. I imagine a lot of it comes from holding a single high card ( you'd never hold a single 2,3,4 ) and holding 2 high cards
for example jk --> draw jjj, or kkk gets you 800. Video poker for winners has the game out of the box, and I'll have to check out the best plays with its 'select the cards and we give you the EV' ability.

OK, I'll try this again, does anybody know where the 9/6 double double
aces and faces (99.46 )machines are located at the Peppermill? Thanks.

I have played this game on those VP machines at the entrance from the
north parking lot. This is near Oceano.

Thanks.
If 9/6 Aces & Faces is 99.46% and the Reno Database lists Peppermill
games That are 99.2% (8/5 BP)as best games, why isn't it included in
the Database. I've heard a lot of people stating how bad the choices
have become at the Pepp and yet here seems to be a hidden jewel that is
ignored. I don't understand?? Am I being out of line here?

We try to include 1. The best playable games, 2. ALL positive games,
and 3. 9/6 JoB games in the DataBase. Where the line is drawn on
"best playable games" depends on a casino's inventory mix, what is
reported to the Casino Monitor or me, how the CM or I feel when we're
doing an update, the phase of the moon etc.. <G>
In the case of the 9/6 DDBAF at Peppermill, I've read that there are
some at Peppermill, and the location, but I haven't seen any
denomination(s) reported. Lack of denomination information is a
reason to exclude a marginal game from the DataBase.
When reporting updates for the DataBase, it's a good idea to copy
the Casino Monitor and/or me, and to include as much location
information as possible.

Thanks, I know that you told me that before. I am a DDB player and I
stay at the Peppermill when I go to Reno (every 3 months) and just
want to see information about my favorite game. I know I'm being
selfish but bear with me.

The denominations are 25C/50C and yes they are near the oceano entrance. I've noticed this game all over the place at the Pepp, but they are short pay. I end up ignoring this game ,as full pay 8/5 ( 99.9) Super Aces are also on these machines and I hate giving the Pepp the extra .5 EV...Tom

If you hate giving up EV, why don't you play the +100% return 25-cent
progressive 10/7/5 DB?!? The top three payouts are metered! So the EV
can be substantially more than that of non-progressive 10/7/5 DB.
