Whether playing multiplay machines or not never affects the correct
strategy. That is, assuming that you are wanting to play the strategy
that maximizes your expected return. Multiplay is just a way of
playing more games (with the same starting cards, but that is
irrelevant to expected return).
If you sometimes want to play some sort of "risk averse" strategy,
well that might be different. To that, I would say play at a level
that is appropriate to your bankroll; then risk aversion is never
necessary.
