I believe his rule was (please don't quote me on it):
Hold the ace alone if
a) there's no flush penalty to the ace
b) there's no low-straight penalty to the ace (2,3,4 or 5)
AND
c) There's no 10 in the hand.
If any of the above occur, hold the Ace-high.
Double check the column. But when I follow that on Win Poker, I almost never get an error message.
According to the Dancer strategy card, you hold the ace with two high cards when there is a 9 penalty. Otherwise, keep the two high cards. If the two high cards are Jack-queen, just keep them.
It's real hard to learn. I played 20,000 hands on it, with a strategy card, and was still only at about 95 % accuracy.

perfectly, and I've got plenty of time to learn to do it right.
As far as learning when to hold the Ace with two unsuited high
