Boys...Bob's articles over the years were always insightful and
thoughtfully written, and in retrospect probably a little too good.
It's not clear to me that his real audience wasn't the casino side
rather than the player side. Dan was one of the pioneers of VP
information publishing, and his strategies, for its flaws were still
good enough to get the money*. One AC pro I talk to regularly reminds
me of games such as $5 9-6 Jacks with a 5% meter, and $5 10-7 DB with
1% meters on all quads, the SF and the RF. With plays at 5% or so, you
could make a lot of mistakes and still get the dough. While there is
substantial downside to what Bob and Dan has contributed in the past,
there's absolutely no profit in discussing it here. What's done is
done anyway, and the better course is to move forward. I realize that
Bob had put in his fair share of research on determining optimal play
of certain VP games, but he was far from alone in this. I can think of
a couple of guys who became multimillionaires playing machines, and
they've been around the scene longer than either Bob or Dan.

*GBC still sells back issues of VP Times and Lenny Frome's
publication-if one is interested in a historical development of VP,
these are important reads.

IMHO I always felt SW was a little overrated; good blackjack writer,
his book on 8-5 Jacks progressives was ok at the time, but he has
flyered plays on more than one occasion where his math was flawed.
Then there was the time he had two winning weeks in a row in the NFL,
and subsequently turned pro...

Sweet Lord... It is my expert legal opinion that Dan and Bob should drink
until the characters on their keyboards get blurry. It would behoove the
vpFREE admin to supply the bottle and glasses. For further information on
