DANGER VENETIAN SLOT tourney GRAND LUX COUPONS

As a guest at the slot tourneys the Venetian often gives a coupon for food at the GRAND LUX Cafe. The coupon is somewhat misleading in that if you receive a $20 coupon it is inclusive of an 18% gratuity and also the tax. So a $20 coupon is really only about $15 and the tax and tip is paid. This sounds real good in theory... However, each time I have used one of these coupons the servers have struggled to know what to do.

Today I had a $65 dollar bill BEFORE using the coupon. I gave the server the coupon and told him I needed to know the difference. He returned with the bill and now I owed $99. I said how can it be MORE after using the coupon? The manager then came and said the charges were correct. I told him that this made no sense and that I shouldn't owe more AFTER using the comp/coupon than before. He looked at me and laughed and said again that the charges were correct. He was rude and obnoxious and disrespectful.

I took the coupons back, paid the bill INCLUDING a 20% tip for the server and walked out. I will pursue resolution with my host at a later time.

Hey, Nancy.

I was in the same tournament this week and I got the same voucher for the
$20 comp. But, my server knew exactly what to do with the voucher. My food
bill was $26 (after adding tax and 18% gratuity), so I ended up paying $6.

Your scenario ($65 without coupons - $99 with coupons) just doesn't make
sense to me.

Is it possible that the first bill (for $65) was incorrect? Maybe they
forgot to include items on the first bill and then included them on the
revised bill? How closely did you examine the second bill? Just because
the manager said it was correct, doesn't mean that it was. You knew what
you ordered and could easily see if those items were on the $99 bill or not.

BTW, I used my voucher at the Grand Lux at Palazzo....just because I had not
eaten there before. My experience was much better at this Grand Lux
compared to the Venetian's. The food is just as great. But, the whole
restaurant was much nicer and the service was better.

I would like to know if you ever got to use your vouchers and if your host
was helpful at all. Thanks.
