Among other locastions, are not the theoretical and expected ER available right on the screen of the machines when in set up mode?

A number is available. It may or may not be a good number.

you have a machine. What say you?

On my GameKing machine, a slant top MGMD touchscreen, the theoretical ER is what selects the paytable. When changing you get to select the denomination, the game, and the ER. There can be up to 12 "different" games per denomination. You can select only one ER per unique game per denomination. Each ER has the corresponding paytable. There are statistical screens that show what the actual return was since it was initialized including how many of each RF, SF, 4-K, etc was made. It does not have a return number that the casino may expect other than the theoretical ER. Howerver, the casino can get the actual percent win/loss from the statistic screens. For example, they can tell if they are losing or winning how much money on FPDW.

Hope this helps some.
