There are a number of full pay vp machines Downtown, so what's the
problem?
Comps not up to snuff?

Although I always use a player's club card, I never chose a gaming venue
for comps. I go where the pay tables are good and where I have had decent
luck in the past.

Is it just me or has anyone else had the experience of consistent bad
luck at one casino with good pay tables and much better luck at another
casino?

Having "luck in the past" should have nothing to do with it. As volatile as this game is, it should only be unusual if you have not had "bad luck" at a casino with good pay tables if you play at a lot of casinos.

That's why they call it the long run, because it's long.

I think the reason you feel you have bad luck at the casinos with good paytables is about personal bias. When I play at a casino with good paytables, Im EXPECTING a better result, despite the fact that I know that long run volatility makes this expectation void. The other night I was playing at a casino with horrid paytables. I put 200 bucks into a $5 Deuces wild machine with a terrible 97%~ return table. Hit 4 deuces and won 5 grand. Bottom line is, your own expectations are what judges your "luck". And I find the same thing you do, that Im usually more "lucky" when I play machines with bad paytables or make poor holds going for big hands. All about expectations.
