hmm...interesting
Bob mentioned about choosing casinos where competition is nearby
instead of a place like a cruise ship but, in another post recently,
he was inviting to people to join him and Shirley for a vp lesson and
play (of course) in a cruise!

Then he mentioned that many advantage players are now getting kicked
out of casinos. As an author and speaker of many vp books and stuffs,
I wonder what Jean Scott does so that she is not getting kicked out
of casinos as an "advantage" player? For sure as a Frugal gambler,
Jean never follows advices from someone like (Rob S.) for not using
the Slot cards to avoid those automated monitoring by the machine...

The individuals that you speak of use names other than the ones we
know. Therefore the slot card does NOT say Bob Dancer, Jean Scott,
etc. but something else.

And presumably are incognito in the casino, right

I guess I don't get it!?
If Bob or Jean (especially since being a Frugal player) uses slot
cards that don't say their names, what happens when they hit a
Jackpot that requires the IRS form? Do they hide the card right away
before the attendant(s) show up?

Nearly all such writer's names (Skip, Bob, Jean,...and, for that matter, Rob) are their "pen names" and not their actual names, which provides some degree of disguise.

However, some have gotten too recognizable for their own good. If memory serves, I believe Jean has effectively been banned from the Orleans (by having her slot club benefits permanently revoked), and Bob Dancer has gotten similar treatment from several casinos.

John "low profile" Kelly

If Bob Dancer (false name) were really Joe Blow, then his slot card,
driver's license and soc security card would all say Joe Blow.
After all, each of these people DO have a real name but it is not the
name that you and I know.

If his name would be "Bob the Advantage Player", he will not be able
to write the following in his article:

"Video poker players, for the most part, do not have to consider
these factors, although it's a foolish player who goes around
bragging about how good he is. "
Yeah!!! How writing it???

The other interesting thing, is his rating of his own products:

"You can use strategy cards at video poker. The best ones of these,
i.e. mine, accurately tell you how to play every possible hand ---
including the special cases"

He was a dancing instructor before he met Shirley.
I believe that he taught country and western.

We have been cut off from casino mailings, i.e., the Orleans and Suncoast, because of being known as "advantage players." But it doesn't happen very often.

The biggest reason is that we don't pound one casino too hard or for long periods at one time. We spread our play around in many casinos and try to never hurt one "too bad." Many pros, such as Bob Dancer and others, have reduced the number of casinos where they are welcome to play because they were conspicuous with their heavy and frequent play.

True, but almost all casinos where we play know that I am Jean Scott, whatever name is on my slot card. I've given up on keeping a low profile!!!!!

My slot card (and driver's license) has my "real" name on it and that is the name that goes on W2G's. However, a lot of people who work in a casino know that I am also "Jean Scott." Don't worry about it. Brad and I have "become" Jean and Brad Scott. My real name almost sounds "strange."

He is being a bit self-congratulatory here, but as far as I
know, he's right. I don't know of any other strategy charts that go
into as much detail as his. (If there's anything he leaves off, it's
one of those "minor errors" in WinPoker that cost something
ridiculously small like a hundredth of a cent.)

Jean,
You are recognized because of your frequent television appearances.
I doubt that the others (Anthony Curtis, Skip Hughes, Bob Dancer) have
anywhere near the exposure.
