I hate it when the person seats you at a table; maybe sliding the
chair in as the wife sits down; then he or she hangs around a few
seconds asking, "Can I get you anything else?" I really don't think he
should get a tip unless one asks for a window seat or some other
special feature. I'm not sure if you call that person maitre d' or are
they just the reservations person. (I have wondered why I seem to get
seated by kitchen or restrooms?)
One time I had a person jump in front of me to take me to assigned
seats in showroom. I knew where my seats were and I didn't need help.
Then the seater stood in fromt of me and asked what else he could do.
Then he held out his hand an said, "You forgot my tip." I had to tell
him to hit the road.
In case your wondering, "daja moo"?? I think I have heard and posted
about this bull before.
